Klaatu (/ ˈ k l ɑː t uː /) was a Canadian rock group formed in by the duo of John Woloschuk and Dee Long. They named themselves after the first word of a three word command (klaatu barada nikto) given to the robot Gort in the film The Day the Earth Stood Still. After recording two non-charting singles, drummer Terry Draper was added to the line-up; this trio would constitute Klaatu Genres: Psychedelic pop, progressive rock, pop rock.

While not a "CD" release, in March of Klaatu and Bullseye also released a vinyl LP called "Raarities" which included some things left off of SunSet due to space limitations. The intent was to cater to the niche vinyl market while also providing something that wasn't simply a "re-purchase" of already available on CD recordings.
